The installation of the software requires a minimum of 10GB of Disk Space. In addition you will require some additional disk space to create your project files.

Suppose you have created an Album by using the following steps

1. Go to File Menu and select the option New Album/Project.
   
2. This will give you new Album/Project window to select page size for your Album.
   
3. Please select page size for your Album as per your requirement from the dropdown menu on the extreme left hand corner of the New Album/Project window and then click on the check mark button.
   
4. E.g. if you select page size of 10.00X13.00(300) from the drop down menu of the New Album/Project then you will get the page size as follows:
   
5. In Order to change the page size of the pre-selected page size of the album. You need to go to Page menu and select the option Change Page Properties
   
6. This will give you Change Page Properties window. Please reselect the page size as per your requirement.
   
7. Now re-select the page size as per your requirement and then click on Check mark button. E.g. If you select the page size as 13:00X13:00 you will get the page size of  13:00X13:00
   

Steps:

1. Once you have designed your own page then click on the Favorite button on the Favorite tab.
2. Click on the New option from the drop down menu of the Favorite tab to select a category for your Favorite. This will give you window to select New Favorite Category
   
3. Type a Favorite folder for your designed template category. Once you have selected favorite folder then please click on
   Add Templates to Folder button.
4. This will give you Save Favorite as window. You need to type in the name for your designed page and then click on the check mark button.
   
5. This will save your page under the Favorite category which you have selected.
   

Steps:

1. Go to File Menu and select the Export option.

You can add background colors to your pages by clicking the ‘Background Color’ button. You can also set the selected background color as universally for the rest of the pages.

3. An Export dialog window opens up. By default all the pages are selected.

In order to proof the pages from the customer you need to create slide show of your projects and need to send the slide show to the customer.

Steps:

1. Let us proof the below project which is ready.
   
2. Now click on the  generate slide show button.This will give a window to generate slide show which will contain Reference Name as the name of the Album which you can change and rename it as per your choice.
   
3. You need to select a path to save the slide show for the project by clicking on the folder icon on the
   Save in field. If you want you can give Audio to your slide show.You can add cover page as well as Thank You page for your slide show by putting tick mark besides these fields and locating the necessary file.
4. You need to tick mark the Water Mark option and then click on  start generating slide show button. This will start generating the slide show as you will see blue progress bar at  the top of the window
   
5. Once the blue progress gets completed then you will get a window which you will ask you to run the slide show. In order to send the slide show to the customer for the proofing you need to attach that file as an attachment.

The slide show is a small executable file which gets created in the application path with a name of that of the project. Simply attach this file to the email and send it to the customer.

Watermarks in a slideshow is used for an easy reference of the customer for proofing. Customer can easily refer to watermarks on the photos of a page for any further rectification

Yes, you can have music in the slide show. The Slide Show supports MP3 format files

In the current version, you cannot make a VCD from the slideshow.

Yes, you can have border around the pages. This can be set in the New Album Dialog window

Applying border color to a page

Steps:

1. Go to file Menu and select the option New Album/project
   
2.  This will give you new Album/Project window.
   
3. Click on the Border Color button. This will give you  “Color window”  to choose color for the border of  your  page.
   
4. Select any color as per your choice and then click on “OK” Button. After you have selected the color for your border then you will get Border Color button filled with the selected color. Now drag the slider besides “Border Thickness” in order to apply thickness to the border. Once you have selected the thickness for your border then click on Check mark button on the New Album/Project.
   
5. This will give you a page with the selected border color.
   

In order to use the Object Based Alignment you need to select the photos on a page with respect to which you want to align other objects. The Alignment will always take place with respect to the photo which was selected first.

Safe area is a portion which might get cut during binding. The safe area has four parameters viz. left, right, top and bottom margins.

Yes, you can use Dg Foto Art on dual Monitor. The Work area, however cannot be extended to two monitors, but you could place some of the dock-able items like the photos gallery, storyboard, etc. on the other screen.

Losing a dongle is like losing your license to use the software. The software just cannot function without a dongle. In this unfortunate event, you need to contact PXL Soft immediately and procure the dongle in exchange of the price of the software (forwarding charges extra as applicable).

A damaged dongle will be replaced with a replacement charge upon receipt of the damaged dongle and replacement fee.
There will be no replacement for a dongle that has been lost or stolen.  A new software license must be purchased.

Dg Foto Art-Classic runs with a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels and above

The DPI settings should be 96

You can find the Product Serial number on the box pack of Dg Foto Art or on the dongle hardware. It usually starts with DPA or DFA.

All you need to do is,  click and drag the page which you wish to replace while simultaneously  navigating  through the rows  by  using  the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard  and then by simply dropping the page to the position of your choice on the storyboard.

To Uninstall Dg Foto Art:

1. Click on the Start button on the left bottom corner of your desktop
2. Go to Settings > Control Panel > Add or remove programs. You will find a list of programs installed in your computer
3. Kindly look for Dg Foto Art
4. Click on Dg Foto Art
5. You will see CHANGE and REMOVE option
6. Select REMOVE
7. Click Uninstall

The program will be Uninstalled.

To Install Dg Foto Art again:

1. Insert Dg Foto Art Installation disk 1 in CD drive
2. The setup will start automatically. You can follow the prompts to continue the installation.
3. It will prompt you to insert Installation disk 2.

At this time you can insert the disk 2 and follow the prompts. Once the Installation is completed you will receive a confirmation on the successful installation of Dg Foto Art.
Click OK button. Then, click on Finish to exit the wizard.

1. While you have the error message on the computer screen, please press the 'prt scrn' key on your keyboard. This key is just next to the F12 key on your keyboard.
2. Once done, please click on Start > Accessories > Paint. This will open up Paint window.
3. On this Paint window, please click on the EDIT menu and then choose the option to 'Paste'. This will paste the image in the Paint window.
4. Now click on the FILE menu on the Paint window and choose to option 'Save'. This will open up a window which will ask you to enter a name for this file and also the location where you would like to save the file. Choose the location 'Desktop' for your easy reference.

Once done, please send that file as an attachment when you reply to this e mail.

To get the system information, kindly follow these steps:

1. Go to Start (at the left bottom corner on the desktop) > Accessories > System Tools > System Information
2. This will open the "System Information" window. Now, Click on the 'File' menu and then on 'Save'.
3. This will open a "Save as" window asking you to give a file name and the location where you would like to save the information.
4. Click on the 'Desktop' icon that is on the left side of this "Save as" window and then enter the file name as "System Info" and then click on the 'Save' button. This will save the system information file on your computer desktop.
5. Now you can send the file named "System Info" that you see on your desktop to us as an attachment in an e mail.

The MFC application error occurs when the default display settings of the scrollbar in Windows are changed.  Following are the steps which will resolve the MFC application error message.

1. Right-click on the computer desktop and go to PROPERTIES
2. Click on the APPEARANCE tab, make sure that the Font Size is set to 'Normal' and then.....Click ADVANCED
3. Under ITEM drop-down, please select SCROLLBAR. In the SIZE mentioned besides it, please select 17. (If it is already on 17, you can change it to 16 or
4. Under ITEM drop-down, please select SCROLLBAR. In the SIZE mentioned besides it, please select 17. (If it is already on 17, you can change it to 16 or 15)
5. Click OK and save the changes. The new changes will take effect on your system.
6. Now open Dg Foto Art. 

Following are the steps which need to be followed in order to alter the page size in Dg Foto Art:  

1. Please click on Page > Change Properties
2. A window would open up - Change Page Properties
3. In Change Page Properties, write the size of the page you wish to make.

4. Fill in the Width and Height of the page you wish to make. You can also change the DPI setting by writing the number in the place provided. If needed, you can also make changes in the safe area.

Then, you can choose whether you wish to apply changes in all page or only the current page

If you choose the option - Apply to all page, a window will open up asking - 'Any changes in page setting will affect all pages in album and ‘Do you want to Continue.'  If you click YES, then all the pages will acquire the new size which you filled in.

In Dg Foto Art version 5.0, you receive this error message while working on a particular album, a certain file gets corrupted and you find it difficult to open that album.

First try to download the 5.2 update for Dg Foto Art – Classic from our website www.pxlsoft.com  and then install it on you computer and then open Dg Foto Art – Classic. Even after installing the update if the problem persist then following the below steps.

Thus we request you to follow the below mentioned steps to recover your album as you may not be able to open the same album:

1. Open Dg Foto Art
2. Create a new album, while creating this new album please make sure that you select the same page size that you have for your original album.
3. In this album add the same number of pages that you have in your original album. Please make sure to keep these pages blank. Once you add the same number of blank pages, click on the ‘Save’ button.
4. Now close this album. Also close Dg Foto Art.
5. Now start ‘Windows Explorer’. Locate and open the folder of your original album, you will see some files with .paj extensions and two files with the name ‘Thumbs’.
6. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu and select the option ‘Copy’. Now close this folder.
7. Now locate and open the folder of your new album that you have created with the blank pages. After you open this folder you will also see some files with .paj extensions and two files with the name ‘Thumbs’. Click on the ‘Edit’ menu and select the option ‘Paste’.
8. After you select the ‘Paste’ option, you will receive a message that says “Would you like to replace the existing file”. Click on the button that says “Yes to all”.
9. Now open Dg Foto Art, and open the new album that you have created with the blank pages. After you open this album you will find that your original album is intact, the only difference will be the album name. The new album will be your original album now.

To further resolve this issue, we request you to provide us with the following details, this will help us in understanding the cause and provide you with further resolution steps:-

1. No of pages you created in your album in which your facing the issue of "bad object" has a bad format.
2. The operating system of your PC is installed in which drive.
   System report: To get the system report, kindly follow these steps:
   1. Go to Start (at the left bottom corner on the desktop) > Accessories > System Tools > System Information
   2. By doing this, the information related to System would be generated. Then, go to File > Save.  Give the path where you would like to save and click Save.
   3. The system report generated would be saved and then you can send it as an attachment with the mail.

Following are the steps to retrieve a project:

1. Click on the START button on the left-bottom corner of the desktop.
2. Go to SEARCH > FOR FILES AND FOLDERS.
3. Click on 'All Files and Folders' on the left-hand side of the window.
4. In 'All Files and Folders', please type the specific file name. Make sure that all the drives are selected in the 'Look In' box.
5. Click on 'SEARCH'.

6. It will display a list of files on the right-hand side. Please right-click on the file, select 'Open With'.

7. Now you can select Dg Foto Art in order to open the program.

In order to generate a system report, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Click on Start (at the left bottom corner on the desktop) > Accessories > System Tools > System Information
2. By doing this, the information related to System would be generated.
3. Go to File > Save.  Give the path where you would like to save. The select save option. The system report generated would be saved and then you can send it as an attachment with the mail.

In order to know the version, all you need to do is open Dg Foto Art, now click on the 'Help' menu and then select the option "About dg Foto Art" and it will display the version that you are using for Dg Foto Art.

If you try to start or install an MS-DOS-based or a 16-bit Windows-based program on your Windows XP-based computer, you may receive an error message that is similar to the one you have received.

This issue may occur if one or more of the following files are missing or damaged:
Config.nt
Autoexec.nt
Command.com

To resolve this issue:
If the issue continues to occur, copy the Autoexec.nt and Config.nt files from the Repair folder in Windows to the System folder. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Insert the Windows XP SP2 installation CD into the CD drive or DVD drive.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
4. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command
   expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\config.nt_ c:\windows\system32\config.nt
   expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
   expand CD-ROM Drive Letter:\i386\command.co_ c:\windows\system32\command.com

5. Start or install the program. If the issue is resolved, do not complete the remaining steps. If the issue is not resolved, go to the next step.
6. Note: The Command.com file is not edited or created in this in the following process. Because of this, you may have to expand it
   from your Windows XP CD-ROM.  
   Start Notepad.
7. In Notepad, type the following entries:
      dos=high, umb
   device=%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\himem.sys
   files=40
8. On the File menu, click Save As.
9. In the File Name box, type Config.nt, and then click Save. Close the Config.nt file.
10. On the File menu, click New.
11. In the new blank document, type the following entries:

13. In the File Name box, type Autoexec.nt, and then click Save. Close the Autoexec.nt file.
14. Start Windows Explorer. Locate the Config.nt file, right-click the Config.nt file, and then click Copy.
15. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
16. Locate the Autoexec.nt file, right-click the Autoexec.nt file, and then click Copy.
17. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
18. Locate the Command.com file, right-click the expanded Command.com file, and then click Copy.
19. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste. Restart your computer.

If the issue continues to occur, copy the Autoexec.nt and Config.nt files from the Repair folder in Windows to the System folder. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\repair, and then click OK.
2. Right-click autoexec.nt, and then click Copy.
3. Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\system32, and then click OK.
4. Right-click anywhere in that folder, and then click Paste.
5. Right-click the Autoexect.nt file that you just copied, and then click Properties.
6. Click to select Read-Only, and then click OK.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 to copy the Config.nt file.

To generate an rpt file we suggest you to follow these steps:-

1. Select "My Computer" from the desktop.
2. Look for the drive where you have installed Dg Foto Art.( For e.g: C:\ or D:\)
3. Browse in Dg Foto Art  directory  and search for file named as Reporter.exe.
4. Double click on the same(Reporter.exe ).This will generate a rpt.file in the same folder named as Dg Foto Art.rpt.

5. Kindly do not cancel till you get a message saying rpt. file generated successfully.

In order to fill color in shapes, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Select a shape on the page and then
2. Click on fill shapes option
3. Select a color.
4. When we go back to the shape we see that there is no color in the shape
5. Now increase the opacity  by moving the opacity slide bar.As you slide the bar the color would get filled in the shape.
